Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan presented an Order of Friendship granted by the Vietnamese State to the German ambassador to Vietnam Rolf Peter Gottfried Schulze in Hanoi on July 29.

The honour was awarded in recognition of his special contribution to cooperative relations between the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Nhan noted that the ambassador has helped develop bilateral relations in many fields. Germany is now a leading partner of Vietnam in the European Union, he said.
He also highly appreciated the preparation of the German embassy-especially the ambassador-for the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel’s visit to Vietnam in October.

Ambassador Rolf Schulze expressed his happiness and showed sincere thanks to Vietnam’s State and Government. He said that on his arrival in Vietnam, he and his family received a warm welcome and goodwill from Vietnamese people and that they would never forget this good feeling about the country.
Meanwhile, he pledged to continue his positive contributions to strengthening cooperative relations between Vietnam and Germany.
